HOW TO NAVIGATE BY THE ORION – THE HUNTER
When we are at sea or land, we should have an idea to identify directions even at nights. It is very
easy to identify the “Orion” constellation on clear nights and there are some folklores behind this
constellation. During the first part of this series, it will teach you how to spot the constellation in the
night sky and some interesting facts about Orion including pictures of it.

Stories of this Orion constellation
can be found in many cultures like,
Greek, Hungarian, Indian, Native
American, Aboriginal Australian,
Scandinavian, Babylonian,
Egyptian, and Chinese.
There are many stories regarding
this and each of these stories un-
derscores many important ideals in
their respective cultures. Accord-
ing to Greek mythology Orion is
a supernatural gigantic hunter. An
angry goddess tried to dispatch
that Hunter with a scorpion. They
give this as a main reason that con-
stellations of both Scorpius and
Orion are never in the sky at the
same time.
