Course of Action Comparison and Decision
During COA comparison and decision the commander evaluates each
friendly COA against established evaluation criteria, compares them
with each other and selects the COA the commander believes will best
accomplish the mission. After the commander’s decision, the decision-
making portion of the NPP is completed.
The selected COA is then expanded and translated into a clear, concise
concept of operations (CONOPS) that describes in broad terms how and
when the force and its subordinate tactical organisations will accomplish
assigned tasks.
